Printing via WiFi Printer

WiFi

Due to the increase in wireless capable devices, it is now easier to print via WiFi than ever before. You can now print from your laptop, desktop, phone and tablet! We’re going to walk you through the steps of printing using a WiFi printer.

Printing via AirPrint

Apple allows users to print from any of their Apple devices using its AirPrint service. You can print via Google Drive, Google Maps, Evernote, Safari, iWork, and the Notes app. We expect other apps to develop this functionality in the coming years.

Note: Your printer does not need to be AirPrint compatible in order to use this service but it does make life easier if it is. Check out Apple’s Support Page to see if your printer is compatible.

If your printer is listed, congratulations! You can print wirelessly by simply connecting your device to the same WiFi network as your printer. To test your connection, try printing a test page from your phone by selecting the print option from the action button (the square with the upwards arrow).

If your printer is not listed, you can download an app such as O’Print or HandyPrint to turn any printer into a wireless capable one. Once you have an app installed, follow the directions in-app and you should now be able to print wirelessly.

Note: With this method, your computer and printer must remain powered on and connected to the same WiFi network as your printer in order for this to work.

Printing via Google Cloud Print

You can also print from Android devices as well! Simply go into your device settings, system, and select Printing. Make sure your printer is listed. Return to the document you wished to print and select print.

No Printing option or your device isn’t listed? You can download the Cloud Print app from the Google Play Store. Once you have the app installed, follow the instructions in-app and try to print a sample page.

Note: Your device must be connected to the same WiFi network as your printer in order to use Cloud Print.
